The attached series of works are a reflection of the artist’s perceptions in the realm of understanding the society. This series represents his own self consciousness as well as his experience with different people through his journey. There is a complex blend of popular elements with the religious , historical and mundane. The choice of images like portraits & animals reciprocate to popular icon or religious symbols. In this silhouette the artist juxtaposes of chaotic city & village events which view as a digital camouflage. This visually interpreted is the difference between life in the city & life in the village. Every individual experience of the artist’s journey is documented & visually represented in his works.

He has participated in several exhibitions in India & abroad.

Ratan Krishna Saha
Born in 1964, Midnapore (West Bengal), Ratan Saha received his Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata in 1985 and his Masters in Creative sculpture, from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S.U., Baroda in 1993

One can see the sculptor and the painter at works in Saha’s creations, be it painting or print making. That Saha is concerned with the problem of space and dimension is clearly evident in the manner he treats the forms in his work, they are not merely seen from one point of view but looked at from all angles almost like a cubist artists treatment of the form. His use of space in the given medium is also interesting giving the viewer an unusual perspective.

Suraj Kumar Kashi
Suraj Kumar Kashi (b. 1976, Bihar) is a surreal artist who grew up in the semi-urban town of Jamui, dreaming of being an artist. Following an MFA from College of Art, Delhi University (2003) he started out as an art director at the advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather only to give it up. His canvases- scattered with shiny, surreal city dwellers, clouds and flying animals- bear testament to this brief brush with corporate glamour. Kashi has participated in several solo and group shows across the country as well as the Athens Biennale (2013).

He has recently created larger than life canvases for the Royal Caribbean’s ‘Symphony of the Seas’ the largest cruise liner to sail on earth. Kashi’s canvases are installed permanently on the ships public landings.

Dimpy Menon
Dimpy Menon is the first Indian sculptor to win the Lorenzo il Magnifico Bronze Award at the Florence Biennale. Dimpy has been called a “Natural” by World Sculpture magazine which said, “She captures the graceful, acrobatic movements of the human body with rare sensitivity.”

Dimpy has had over 50 exhibitions in India and abroad, including at the Amsterdam-Whitney in New York. Recently, Dimpy Menon was invited as a speaker at the TEDx conference.

When the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai re-opened its lobby after the terror attacks of 26/11 a prominent change was a bronze sculpture there by Dimpy Menon. The seven-foot composition has been described as “stunning” by the travel guru Mary Gostelow.

The CNN International told its patrons, “Don't miss the sculptures by Dimpy Menon dotted around the premises at the Trident in Bandra-Kurla.”

Open magazine pointed out that “Menon’s figures seem to defy the laws of physics… and yet, the muscled human bodies excite the viewers…”

Dimpy’s works have been specially commissioned by some of the largest hotel chains and corporate houses, including the Holiday Inn, Bangalore which hosts her spectacular composition that is over 20 ft high. The Oberoi, The Leela, The Marriott, Crowne Plaza, TVS, Indo-Us Venture, General Electric, National Semiconductor, Total Environment, VR Bengaluru and Jagriti Theatre are a few places where her commissioned works can be seen.

Dimpy Menon lives and works in Bangalore.

G Subramanian

G Subramanian is one of the most celebrated artists in India. His work is a representation of India in the world of Modern Art.

Subramanian’s paintings are inspired by his only daughter who was diagnosed with cancer and she passed away. His works are mostly in mixed media and his collages on canvas are inspired by the costumes that his father would wear as a theatre artist. Subramanian is ruled by his emotions and through his art he wants the audience to not only see but also feel his art. He uses various techniques, (such as calligraphy), abstract backgrounds.

Basuki Dasgupta

Basuki Das Gupta is a resident of Tumkuru, India. He has been a part of various group and solo shows over the years. His works have a layering effect to them depicting the complexity of human nature and relationships. They often present mythological creatures with a contemporary twist.

“I grew up among the sepia coloured terracotta temples. My childhood was splashed with art, faith and nature. These three aspects formed a circular bond and that forms the basis for everything I do and will always be present in my compositions. There is another trinity that holds a lot of importance to me, it is that of nature-man-god. I think they are inseparable and I try presenting in the same in various forms.” – Basuki Dasgupta
